🛑 Adblocking on Any Device 🛑

The aim of this post, no matter what device you use, is to eliminate advertising from your digital life once and for all.

In this day and age, advertising is insidious, invasive and has enshitified most of society. It needn't be that way.

This post describes very simple (and free) ways to clean up your digital lives and surf privately, freely and peacefully.

Note; Some VPNs offer adblocking in their settings (Mullvad and ProtonVPN for example). If you already use one, check to see if you get this benefit trying the options below.

All options listed below, with the exception of VPNs are free!

🤖Android

🌐Adblocking browsers

Fennec - Go to settings > Extensions > Ublock Origin

Ironfox - Go to settings > Extensions > Ublock Origin

Brave - Shields are automatically enabled to block ads and trackers (Brave is not the most private browser but a valid option)

🛑Phone-wide and In-App Adblocking

Of Course, many apps are chock full of ads but these can be eliminated too!

Adaway - Install, open and select ''VPN Based ad blocking''. DOES NOT work in conjunction with a VPN.

DNSnet - Install, open and select some filter lists. Tick hagezi - Normal, and all Stevenblack's lists. Enable ''Resume on system start'', press Play and ''ok'' for the VPN connection. DOES NOT work in conjunction with a VPN.

🍏iOS

🌐Adblocking browsers

Brave - Will block annoying ads, cookies and trackers as your browse.

Snowhaze - Ad, tracker and fingerprint blocker.

Ublock Origin Lite - Extension for blocking ads on Safari.

🛑Phone-wide and In-App Adblocking

NextDNS - Enter a device name and download the configuration file on your iPhone. Open your phone's settings and tap ''Profile Downloaded'' and install.

🌐Web Browsers

Librewolf - Linux, Windows and MacOS.

This browser comes with Ublock Origin and a host of tracker blocking features as standard. Install, open and surf ad-free!

🔐VPNs

Many good VPNs provide ad and tracker blocking settings.

We would only ever recommend the two services below. These are paid services but combine a VPN to encrypt your web browsing plus adblocking to boot.

Mullvad - £4.36 a month for 5 devices. Open settings > VPN Settings > Enable Ad-blocking (and any other annoyances you want to block)

ProtonVPN - Price varies for 10 devices. App settings allow you to block ads and trackers. Note, only the paid version gives ad-blocking functionality.
